Summit Towers Limited has activated the first ever mobile tower in Siddhirganj, Narayanganz on 16th November, 2020. According to the agreement with Banglalink, one of the leading digital communications service providers in Bangladesh, Summit Towers Limited will be delivering around 259 Towers in the upcoming months.
Summit Towers Limited which is a subsidiary of Summit Communications Limited received tower sharing license from BTRC (Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission) in the year of 2018. With the activation of the newly built tower a Summit has reached a new milestone of becoming the only company in the history of Bangladesh having both Fiber & Tower Facilities Together.
On this occasion, Md. Arif Al Islam, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Summit Communications Ltd. said, “We are really proud of becoming the first tower company to start tower services with an approved Service Level Agreement under the new TowerCo regime. Summit Group has been working towards infrastructure development of the country over the last four decades and its entrance in telecom infrastructure a decade ago is fulfilled by fiber, gateway and now tower being added in the portfolio. The Chairman of BTRC, Md Jahurul Haque said, “BTRC is always interested in exploring the possibilities of new regulatory frameworks for enabling telecom operators to serve their customers better. According to the Chief Technology Officer of Banglalink, Pierre Boutros Obeid, “The activation of this first mobile tower under the new Towerco regime is a very important milestone for Banglalink, as it marks the beginning of a new expansion of our network that will allow more people to gain access to the fastest 4G network in the country as measured by Ookla. We believe that our agreement with Summit will play a key role in our future network expansion plan for Banglalink to remain at the forefront in terms of the quality of service.”
