Chattogram 'Smart City' project

Chattogram City Corporation and Summit Communications Limited marked a significant milestone by signing an agreement to launch the first ever 'Smart City' project in Bangladesh on 12th March 2024. The Honorable Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation, Md. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, presided over the ceremony. The event also included the honorable councilor Abul Hasnat Md. Belal (14 No. Lalkhan Bazar Ward), Mohammad Gias Uddin (15 No. Bagmaniram Ward), and Shaibal Das Suman (21 No. Jamal Khan Ward). On behalf of Summit Communications Ltd., our honorable Managing Director & CEO, Mr. Md. Arif Al Islam, Executive Director, Ms. Fadiah Khan, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Md. Enayet Kabir, Summit Towers Ltd., Chief Executive Officer of CCC, Sheikh Muhammad Tauhidul Islam, and other high officials of CCC and Summit Communications Ltd. were present in the ceremony.
The initial phase will cover three wards within the next six months, paving the way for a comprehensive city-wide implementation within three years. This transformative initiative of building a fiber optic network using the city’s drainage and sewerage system and underground method aims to remove overhead fiber cables. This 15-year tenured agreement will foster a seamless network infrastructure of telecom, ISP, data, and cable TV connectivity at the doorstep of end users. This exemplary endeavor will eradicate the risk of network disruption during fire or any natural calamity; making Chattogram a beautiful, safe and modern city for the rest of the country to follow.
