Mobile broadband technologies associated with 3G, 4G WiMAX and LTE are creating important new multimedia service opportunities for both mobile operators and fixed/mobile operators in Bangladesh, but the revenue opportunity created by mobile multimedia services can only be realized if the very real challenge of finding more cost effective backhaul transport is overcome. Choosing the right solution to cost effectively scale backhaul from the cell site to the IP backbone can make or break the business case for a carrier’s new mobile multimedia services. The use of fiber for backhaul makes increasing sense now as the backhaul network has begun to scale dramatically - particularly when coupled with an innovative and cost effective WDM solution that provides flexibility, scalability, and operations synergies.
SCL’s backhaul solution does far more than just optimize cost; it also offers the low latency required to support stringent synchronization requirements over a packet transport network. Networks support both TDM and Ethernet traffic natively to support the installed base and facilitate a smooth migration.
GP 2G &3G Backhauling
SCL is currently providing GrameenPhone 2G and 3G backhaul service for their BTS in Dhaka metro city. We are using our state of the art MPLS network to provide L3VPN (3G&2G) and L2VPN (2G) service to GrameenPhone.
Robi 2G & 3G Backhauling
SCL is serving Robi for BTS connectivity for their mobile backhauling nationwide. We are providing 3G mobile backhauling for 1100 BTSs covering more than 40 districts. We are using our state of the art MPLS network to provide L3VPN (3G&2G) and L2VPN (2G) service to Robi.
Teletalk 2G & 3G Backhauling
SCL is providing BTS connectivity to Teletalk. Through this Teletalk project, we have expanded our networks in district headquarters in Chittagong, Khulna, Jessore, Barisal, Rajshahi and Sylhet. We are using our nationwide SDH network to carry 2G (TDM) and 3G (Ethernet over SDH) traffic for backhauling.
